Here are the custom poker chips that Corky's parents ordered for us to use as favors at the reception.

Hold Me

Luckily, all the tables, chairs, and equipment we are going to need for the ceremony are included with our venue, so the reception is coming together nicely without any other rentals! Our reception is going to have a Vegas theme, since Marci was born there. You can help send us to Vegas! If you like to play Texas Hold 'Em, Corky's dad will be lending us his poker tables at our reception. So instead of a money tree or a dollar dance, all the funds raised during the poker game will go toward sending us on our honeymoon!

Honeymoon in Vegas

We plan to leave for our honeymoon on Monday, July 21. If we don't get to go to Vegas, we might be going to Ruidoso, NM.

We are still not sure where we will be spending our wedding night, though.

Dressing Up

Here is the adorable dress that the flower girl, Kateri, will be wearing.

The bridesmaids are going to wear short black dresses with spaghetti straps. Nothing too formal.

We want to encourage everyone to dress comfortably - this is West Texas in summer, after all!

Dress Drama

Oh no! They SOLD Marci's dress! Somehow it got put back on the rack for sale after she put her deposit on it. A new one is being sent from overseas on rush. She should be able to get her first fitting the week before the wedding - YIKES!

Music Man

Corky's Uncle Mick is going to be preparing the music for our ceremony and DJ'ing our reception. He is a really funny guy, so it should be great!

Since we are both away from our "home" churches, Pastor Jerry Patton of the First Church of God in Odessa has agreed to do our ceremony.

South Forty from the Barn Door in Odessa will be catering our reception dinner after the ceremony. We've decided to have turkey, ham, dressing, and all the holiday fixings!

Corky's brother Randy and his Aunt Debi have agreed to video our wedding ceremony and reception.

Marble Falls Highlander News Engagement Announcement

Dr. & Mrs. Russell Toler of Odessa and Mr. Terry Szymczyk are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter Marci Sylva Szymczyk to Courtney Shawn (Corky) Spruiell of Marble Falls.

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Permian High School and attends Odessa College in Odessa.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Spruiell of Marble Falls. He is a 2006 graduate of Marble Falls High School and will be entering the U.S. Air Force in August.

The wedding and reception will be held in Odessa on July 18, 2008. The couple will be returning to their home in Odessa after a honeymoon in Las Vegas.


This announcement will be appearing in the July 1, 2008 edition of the paper.

Love Shack

Well, the word "shack" doesn't really make you think of a wedding, but don't let the name fool you! The Shack in the Back on Highway 80 between Odessa and Midland is where we will hold our ceremony and reception! It has a very cute vintage decor and lots of room for dining, dancing, and fun!

It is located at 11520 W Highway 80, near the Gandy's Dairy.
